What are Zeel Injections?
Zeel is a homeopathic solution used for treating pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with arthrosis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatic joint diseases. Often used in combination with Traumeel, Zeel can provide temporary relief of mild to moderate pain. It is a safe alternative to oral NSAIDs and is often used in pain management.
Zeel contains only natural botanical and mineral extracts, including arnica, belladonna, comfrey root, and echinacea, and is administered into the joints via injection.
The mechanism of Zeel’s activity in the body is not well understood, but it is believed that the solution inhibits a cartilage-destroying enzyme. This enzyme, leukocyte elastase, is released during inflammation and eats away at the joint tissue. Zeel’s plant extracts, arnica montana and rhus toxicodendron, stimulate the release of growth factors that protect cartilage and promote natural healing.
A Safe Alternative to NSAIDs and Steroids
Inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury. Inflammation delivers nutrient-rich blood and healing platelets and growth factors to the damaged tissue. But too much inflammation can hinder the healing process, and reducing this excessive inflammation can help speed up the healing process.
In conventional medicine, steroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are often used to reduce pain and neutralize inflammation. But these interventions are not without risk.
- Oral NSAIDs, like naproxen and ibuprofen, can increase the risk of stomach ulcers, and have been linked to a higher risk of stroke and heart attack.
- Steroid injections can raise blood sugar levels, and in some cases cause greater pain and inflammation than the condition they’re intended to treat.
Zeel Injection Side Effects
Zeel has no known harmful side effects, and no contraindications with other drugs. The solution can be used as a safe alternative to conventional anti-inflammatories, and prescribed alongside other therapies and treatments.
Zeel and Traumeel for Meniscus Tear and Knee Osteoarthritis
The knee joint is surrounded by soft cartilaginous tissue. This cartilage is essential to joint function, but it is “avascular,” meaning it has no veins and no bloodflow. When there’s damage to the cartilage, such as with a torn meniscus, the tissue often can’t get enough of the proteins and growth factors it requires to heal properly. This can lead to chronic pain and joint degeneration in the form of osteoarthritis.
Along with Traumeel, three weekly injections of Zeel can provide long-lasting pain relief in patients with knee osteoarthritis. These safe, homeopathic treatment options together reduce inflammation and promote natural healing in difficult-to-reach joint tissues.
